SonShine School

SonShine School is a weekday preschool ministry that is part of the Children’s Ministry at Austin Ridge Bible Church.

The mission of SonShine School is to:

Provide a God-centered, developmentally appropriate program for each child

Integrate Biblical teaching in all that we do

Daily convey God’s love to each child

Share and learn about the wonders of God’s creation

Minister to and care for SonShine School families and staff

Pray for each child and their family

SonShine School is a licensed Child-Care Center by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Our program serves children ages 2 – 4 years old as of September 1st. We also have a 5 year old classroom for children turning 5 by December.

We follow a Christian preschool curriculum that is unit-based and provides a variety of activities to enhance physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual growth. In addition to our regular daily activities, we also offer a weekly music class for each age level. All preschool classes have both a Teacher and an Assistant Teacher.

School Hours:

9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

School is in session from September – May.

Children bring their own lunch. A daily snack is provided by a class parent.

Preschool classes are offered on the following days:

2 year olds—Wednesdays & Fridays

3, 4, & 5 year olds—Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays

Class Ratios:

Young 2 Year Olds 8:2 Adults

Older 2 Year Olds 10:2 Adults

3 Year Olds 13:2 Adults

4 Year Olds 15:2 Adults

5 Year Olds 15:2 Adults

Monday, Jan 30 Current SonShine School families and siblings

Wednesday, Feb 1 at 8:00 am Austin Ridge Bible Church members and Sonshine School Alumni (random drawing at 8:30 am)

Friday, Feb 3 at 8:00 am General public (random drawing at 8:30 am)

Monthly Tuition for 2012 - 2013:

2 year olds Wed/Fri $220 / month

3, 4 and 5 year olds Mon/Wed/Fri $260 / month

2012-2013 Non-Refundable Registration Fees:

2 year old and 3 year old classes $100

4 year old and 5 year old classes $125*

* includes a $25 fee for state-mandated Vision and Hearing Screening for all 4 & 5 year olds conducted by a Certified Vision and Hearing Screening Service at SonShine School each November.

Registration Policies:

This is an in-person registration with a random drawing to select names for each class. Come to room 208 at 8:00 am to complete paperwork and the name drawing will take place promptly at 8:30 am.
Mailed in registrations will be accepted, but will be accepted and processed after the in-person registrations. They will be added on in the order received, depending on space available.
No early or phone registrations will be accepted.
There will be no exceptions for the birth date cut-off. Children must turn the age of the class on or before Sept 1.
A Wait List will be created after all spots are filled in each class. There is a $10 fee to be placed on the Wait List. Our Wait List does not roll over from year to year.
