Show You Care: for Ministries

1. Prayer -- pray once a month for the ministry; get others to join you; pray for the leadership, staff and needs of the ministry; get on their mailing list so that you can pray intelligently

2. Care -- send a card and care package once every four months that would serve as an encouragement to the ministry 3. Service – arrange to serve (you or a group) by going to the ministry once every six months; show support by attending the annual missions conference at Austin Ridge Bible Church (GO! Fest) and determine more effective ways to show you care

Additional Ways to Care for Ministries:

• Ask the ministry to include you and others on their mailing list

• Assist in making arrangements for a leader from that ministry to come to Austin Ridge Bible Church and meet others who are interested in this ministry (i.e., host an informal reception)

• Volunteer on a consistent basis

• Bring food for ministry staff and volunteers

• Ask the ministry, “how can I serve you better?”

Show You Care: for Missionaries

1. Prayer -- pray once a month for them; get others to join you; pray for their spiritual, emotional and physical needs; get on their mailing list so that you can pray intelligently

2. Care -- send a card to them every other month – remember birthdays, holidays and encourage them; email regularly

3. Home Assignment –- when the missionary returns home or is visiting, arrange for them to meet them and (get others to join you); treat them as a friend

4. Austin Ridge Involvement –- show support by attending the annual missions conference at Austin Ridge Bible Church (GO! Fest) and determine more effective ways to show you care Additional Ways to Care for Missionaries:

• Assist in making arrangements for a reception while missionary is visiting Austin Ridge Bible Church

• Be available to assist and direct your missionary friend with their adjustment and needs while living locally

• Ask the missionary, “how can I serve you better?”

• Send care packages (check on shipping costs and details so that the missionary is not stuck paying shipping charges)

• GO! see the missionary (visit them) –- a once in a lifetime opportunity! NOTE: Some missionaries serve in countries where security is a concern based on the government’s efforts to restrict missionary activities. Please demonstrate extreme discretion and caution in how you care for missionaries who are serving in these restricted countries.
