Shaping the mind. Transforming the heart.

The Institute is a nine-month equipping program for Christ Followers who desire a higher level of learning and training as they grow in their faith. It is a seminary-like classroom environment with a hands-on component to put learning into practice. The program covers the story of the Scripture from Genesis to Revelation (Biblical Story), the core doctrinal tenets of Christianity (Biblical Beliefs), and best practices for making disciples, growing in discipline, and defending our faith as apologists (Biblical Practices).

    Biblical Beliefs | 11.18 - 02.10 (with a break from Thanksgiving to New Years)

      Biblical Practices | 02.17 - 05.05 (with a two-week break for Spring Break)

      Registration for the 2026-2027 year opens on July 1.

      • Lorri Winkcompleck

        Lorri Winkcompleck

        Lorri is a teacher, a writer, and a lover of God's Word. She has been a partner at Austin Ridge since 2008 and is passionate about serving the church and helping others find their place to do and make a kingdom difference with their talents and gifts. She is married to Jarrod, and they have one daughter, Reece. She has served as a teaching leader in women's ministry, worship leader on Sunday mornings, and most recently, as a ministry associate and podcaster in the Equip ministry. Lorri appreciates a good book and an excellent vacation to read on. As the Serve Coordinator, it is her joy and privilege to listen to people's stories and direct them to use those stories to serve Jesus and his church.

      • Gary Runn

        Gary Runn

        Gary grew up in Alabama and graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS degree in Finance and an MBA degree. He also has a Master's of Divinity degree and a Doctorate of Ministry. He is married to Carrie who is the Women's Director for Austin Ridge at the Bee Cave Campus. They have two grown children, Courtney and Davis. Gary's passion is to catalyze leaders worthy of being followed by connecting them to their true purpose and calling. He also loves studying and teaching the Bible in a principled way for application and growth. Gary enjoys teaching several classes at the Ridge, including the Institute's Story of Scripture course.

      • Glenn Daves

        Glenn Daves

        Glenn G. Daves is passionate about helping others follow Jesus. He teaches in the Story of Scripture class and is currently developing a class on going deeper in faith. A graduate of Alliance Theological Seminary, Glenn has been active in teaching, preaching, and ministry for more than 40 years. From small group to classroom to pulpit, in multiple states and among Syrian refugees in Lebanon, he points others towards the path of discipleship. Glenn is an engineer by training, with degrees from Brown University and the University of Illinois, holds 27 US patents, and is an executive in the semiconductor industry. He is married to Carole Ausburn Daves and together they raised four children, now grown and starting their own families. Glenn and Carole adopted a village in rural Honduras in partnership with World Vision and are committed to helping its villagers lift themselves out of extreme poverty.

      • Jeff Moore

        Jeff Moore

        Jeff is originally from Baytown, Texas, and has been in Austin since 2000. He has been married to Karol Ann since 1995, and they have two grown kids, two awesome grandsons, and two French Bulldogs. He has a Master's of Christian Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary and has been in pastoral ministry for more than 20 years. Jeff has a passion for seeing people grow in their understanding of and obedience to Scripture and equipping them to equip others in the community, and has been doing that at the Ridge since 2013.

      • Jason Ogle

        Jason Ogle

        Jason has lived most of his life in the midwest and has served as a church planter, lead pastor, and associate pastor. He has degrees in Theology and Education and a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling. Jason is married to Tracy, a Texas native. They have two adult children, Megan and Trenton. Jason enjoys trying unique foods, playing bass guitar, hiking, and finding great coffee. He loves to equip families to follow Jesus and is excited to be a part of Austin Ridge.

      • Carrie Runn

        Carrie Runn

        Carrie is a native Texan, a proud Texas Longhorn, and a graduate of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Her passion is making theology practical and God’s Word accessible. She is married to Gary, and they have two adult children, Courtney and Davis. She has served in campus ministry and as a missionary in Italy. Carrie appreciates a good sense of humor, a good book, and good conversations with friends over coffee. As the Women’s Ministry Director, it is her privilege to shepherd women toward maturity in Christ and help them make a spiritual difference.

      • Bret Boyd

        Bret Boyd

        Bret Boyd and his wife Kate have been part of Austin Ridge for over 10 years and enjoy serving the church body in a variety of ways. Bret has degrees from West Point and Dallas Theological Seminary and is passionate about helping people clearly understand and articulate what we believe as Christians and why we believe it. Professionally, Bret works as a technology entrepreneur.

      • John Craig

        John Craig

        John Craig and his wife Christine have attended Austin Ridge for over six years and are actively involved in serving the church body in various ways along with their two children. John holds degrees from Biola University and Arizona State University and is passionate about helping people have effective spiritual conversations with those around them, and empowering believers to share the gospel with confidence and clarity. Professionally, John has had a diverse career spanning multiple industries, with the last 10 years focused on the technology sector, where he has utilized his expertise to deliver solutions and serve others through his work. Within the Ridge community, John has been involved in several ministries, including Equip, Life Groups, and D-Groups, where he has enjoyed the opportunity to disciple and encourage others in their walk with Christ.

      • Joey Ruyter

        Joey Ruyter

        Joey is originally from Maryland, where he grew up playing hockey and baseball. After being recruited to become a Catholic Priest, he started reading the Bible and came to trust in Jesus + Nothing for his salvation. Joey has a Bachelor of Arts in Bible & Theology, a Master of Arts in Leadership, and a Master of Divinity. Joey married his High School sweetheart, Stephanie, and together they have 4 children. Joey’s role is to lead the men of Austin Ridge to Know, Grow, and Serve Jesus, and oversee and lead our Adult Ministry team.
