If you sing or play an instrument, there may be a place for you on your campus’s worship team! Here is who we’re looking for:
- Talented singers and musicians who can…
- be excellent while having humility
- play and/or sing in the style needed for the Ridge
- learn parts and/or sing harmony by ear
- play to a click
- learn music quickly when needed
- have a teachable attitude and receive input and feedback well
If this sounds like you, we would love for you to audition for the team!
AUDITION PROCESS
You will be scheduled for a 15-minute audition. Each vocalist will lead two songs and then harmonize on one of those same songs while accompanying another vocalist, so we can hear your ability to harmonize and blend with a lead vocalist. Instrumentalists will audition with the two songs listed in the instrumentalist section below. If you click the links, you will find resources to help you prepare for the auditions: lyrics, chord charts, an MP3, and a practice track with a click and guide.

You will play and/or sing in front of, and with, worship staff and volunteers. You may be asked to play along with a song not on the above list, so we can see how quickly you can pick up new things. We will be looking for things like:
- Note, rhythm, and timing accuracy
- Comfort level
- Ability to adapt and adjust, etc…
One thing to note: not everyone who auditions gets on the team. We believe that if this isn’t the right place for you to serve, that God has designed you for something else and we will work with you to help you find that!

Do I need to memorize the lyrics?
We will provide lyrics, but you’re welcome to bring your own.
Do I need to audition in person?
Yes, all auditions are held in person.
Will I need to bring in-ears?
Please bring your own if you have them. If not, please let us know and we can provide some for you.
When will I know if I make the team?
Within a week of your audition.

Jeff is originally from Baytown, Texas, and has been in Austin since 2000. He has been married to Karol Ann since 1995, and they have two grown kids, two awesome grandsons, and two French Bulldogs. He has a Master's of Christian Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary and has been in pastoral ministry for more than 20 years. Jeff has a passion for seeing people grow in their understanding of and obedience to Scripture and equipping them to equip others in the community, and has been doing that at the Ridge since 2013.

Joe is originally from Houston, Texas, and has been leading worship and serving in ministry for over a decade. He is married to his wife, Kalena, and together they are raising their little boy, SJ; the two met in College Station, though neither of them are Aggies—a fact they're quick to mention! Joe is passionate about helping people encounter the presence of God through worship, prayer, and discipleship, and loves equipping others to grow in their faith and follow Jesus wholeheartedly. He and his family are excited for this next season of ministry in Austin, Texas, and all that God has ahead.

Mark grew up a pastor’s kid in Kentucky. The church has always been a special place to him, but God is constantly showing and teaching him more about His Church. When he was 15 years old, he knew that God was calling him into full-time ministry; he just didn’t know where God would take him. A year later, he picked up a guitar and has now been leading worship for over 20 years. He met his wife, Sarah, at their previous church in Houston. They have four amazing kids: Jackson, Aubree, Micah, and Sawyer. They love life, music, and playing outside. Mark started at Austin Ridge on March 1, 2020. It has been an interesting season, but he has seen God move in such amazing ways. They are excited about this next season and can’t wait to see what God is going to do next.

Austin is a Texas native with an appreciation for all things music. He attended Texas Tech University where he received a Bachelor of Psychology and Masters of Media. While in Lubbock, he met his wife Shannon. They have three children, Margot, Jack, and Townes and can be caught traveling, cooking mediocre meals, or embarrassing themselves with a family dance party in their free time. He loves the city of Austin, the people in it, and aims to glorify Jesus in all things.

Bee Cave
Becca was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She received her degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education at St. Edward's University and her Master's degree at Texas A&M University in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis. Becca has spent the last seven years working in the field as a special education teacher and registered behavior technician (RBT). In addition, she has a passion for serving others within the church and community. Becca is excited to use the various skills she has developed in her role as a Ministry Assistant.
