Saul and the Witch

In 1 Samuel 28, Saul continues his downward spiral of rejecting God. In desperation, he turns to a witch for spiritual guidance. God’s silence reveals the tragic consequences of Saul’s lifetime of choices: he wanted God’s blessing without God Himself. While it’s easy to judge Saul’s decision, we can fall into the same pattern when we reject God’s revealed truth to instead seek answers on our own, apart from Him. Our own path ultimately leads to confusion, fear, and deception. But Christ offers something far better: truth, hope, and eternal life.
