The Decline of Saul

On Sunday, Brad continued in 1 Samuel 13 where we begin to witness the tragic decline of King Saul. Though Israel's kings were called to lead under God's authority, Saul increasingly acted as though he were accountable to no one. Faced with mounting pressure from the Philistines and the fear of losing his troops, Saul chose impatience over trust and control over obedience. The text illustrates that God’s throne is “not a two-seater”…that succeeding in life comes through personal submission to the true King.
