Ridge Men

R6 7708

We are a community of men that seeks to pursue Jesus in our families, the workplace, and the world.

Have you ever asked yourself questions like, “What does it mean to lead my family well?” or “Is Jesus relevant to my life, family, and work?” At the Ridge, we want to tackle these questions head-on, together.

Our hope is that you would find an event, class, study, or group that fits your schedule, allows you to take the next step in your journey with God, and helps you get to know other men at the Ridge.

Disciplemaking Groups

Disciplemaking groups are small (4-6 people), same-gender groups that meet weekly for 9-12 months working through a curriculum designed by the Ridge around our beliefs of who a disciple is and what a disciple does.

D-Groups were created and designed specifically to make disciples who can make disciples. By learning to study the Bible for yourself, think theologically, develop spiritual disciplines, and articulate all of that in your own words, you will gain tools to not only lead and equip others, but to more faithfully move towards Jesus for the rest of your life!

Ready to join or lead a D-group? Fill out the form for your campus and our team will be in touch soon!

  • Brian Albrecht

    Brian Albrecht

After growing up in Texas and New Jersey, Brian earned a BA from Rutgers and a THM from Dallas Theological Seminary. At exactly the same time, he met his wife, Kathy, and came to understand that life is best lived missionally for Jesus. Serving in creative and executive roles in the church for most of his career, Brian is excited to be in Austin serving Ridge Men.

He loves finding great NY-style pizza with Kathy, watching Christopher Nolan movies with his son, Pierce, and learning obscure chemistry techniques from his daughter, Ana. He likes running, hiking, reading old books, and watching Liverpool (“real” football). More than that, though, Brian loves to see the life of Jesus grow inside the hearts of men around him.

  • Glenn Gordon

    Glenn Gordon

Glenn grew up on the coast of Florida and moved to Texas shortly after graduating from the University of Florida, where he "majored in Psychology and minored in celebrating National Championships." He and his wife, Katelyn, met while both were students at Dallas Theological Seminary and together have three beautiful girls. Glenn's been in pastoral ministry for over a decade and carries two master's degrees in Christian Education and Media Arts & Communications. Glenn enjoys golf and teaching his daughters to root for his Florida Gators, Atlanta Braves, and Denver Broncos. Serving our Dripping Springs Campus, he is passionate about helping our people find their place to belong and grow in their pursuit of Christ.

  • Kimberly Ralph

    Kimberly Ralph

Kimberly moved to Austin from Detroit when she was 21 years old. She loves hot weather and could not wait to get out of the snow. She attended Liberty University and graduated with a Communications-TV/Radio/Film degree. She is married to John with three adult children who still live in Austin. Kimberly has a passion for home decorating and landscape maintenance, so if she’s not shopping for home décor, you can find her with a chainsaw in hand out in the yard. A runner for over 22 years, she now enjoys time on the trail at Ladybird Lake, walking her dogs, and light biking. Her passion is talking with and encouraging high school students, college students, and young adults about life, God’s promise of a ‘future and a hope’ and how Jesus has a plan.

  • Maida Howell

    Maida Howell

Maida calls Austin home, though growing up she was blessed with the ability to travel often and live in a few different countries. Because of that, traveling is still one of her favorite things, and she loves other cultures and languages. Maida attended Texas A&M University, where she graduated with a degree in English. She then married a wonderful Jesus-loving Star Wars fan, who she met working as a camp counselor at Pine Cove.

She moved back to Austin and returned to the Ridge, having attended first in high school. After teaching for a while at a private school, Maida joined the Ridge team. She loves long walks, sunsets, watercolor painting, journaling, vibrant colors, chats with friends, and time with her family. Above all she loves the Lord. She has a heart for this church and is passionate about helping people know the Lord, grow in relationship with Him, and Serve Him daily.

  • Micah VanDover

    Micah VanDover

Micah comes from a real estate/business background and has a consuming passion about connecting people to Christ through evangelism, discipleship, learning the Bible better, and living out God’s Word. Micah would not rather be doing anything else than helping equip the church to know God and make Him known. Helping men thrive in their relationship with Christ and seeing that vertical relationship transcend every horizontal aspect of their lives - from marriage to parenting, from work and to leisure - is an opportunity he is thankful to pour his life into.

  • Michael Chiles

    Michael Chiles

Originally from St. Louis, Michael has served in ministry for the past twenty-five years in Austin, Denver, and Los Angeles. He's passionate about helping others grow in their understanding of God's love and their identity in Christ. For 10 years, Michael had a career in film and television in Los Angeles before going to grad school for Christian Counseling. He's still connected to Austin's production community and has a heart for supporting pastors and ministry leaders. Michael and his wife, Janie, have three fun and lively children, love the outdoors, a good house project, and road tripping across the US.

  • Phillip Williams

    Phillip Williams

Phillip is a graduate of Clemson and Dallas Theological Seminary. After 14 years in ministry, he returned to school to complete a professional counseling degree at Liberty University, solidifying his life’s call to care ministry. He is excited to help the Ridge further develop a care culture centered on the hope of life transformation that only Jesus brings. Phillip married up. He and Jill have three children: Mitch, Grant, and Suzanna. They love traveling and competing at anything and are grateful to be on mission with the Austin Ridge family.

  • Sylvia Volk

    Sylvia Volk

Sylvia was born and raised in Washington state and moved to Texas in 2022. She attended the University of Washington, where she met her incredible husband, Nate, and graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration. Sylvia previously worked in corporate but was called to serve Jesus in her daily work life.

Being from the PNW, she loves hiking, camping, swimming, and drinking good coffee. In her free time, she's either learning about holistic health, cooking/baking a new recipe, or playing with her cat, Dixie. She looks forward to meeting new people in Texas and growing at the Ridge!
