Many will be affected by this pandemic physically, financially, emotionally, or socially. This is a time for us to show God’s generosity in the way we support and love those within Austin Ridge Bible Church, our neighbors, and those in our city. Let us show them God’s love by serving and ministering to people in our communities. There are three main ways we want to guide you in serving, loving, and ministering during the next few months.
Austin Ridge has created a Covid-19 Response Fund (found at the button below) specifically to help those who are facing significant financial need during this difficult time. Please do not discontinue the ways you are already giving, but we ask you to pray about how you might participate in this critical project. All financial gifts for this fund will be distributed to those in our body and in our community through our mercy request process at The Ridge.
SERVING FAMILY, NEIGHBORS & FRIENDS:
We have already seen our body respond in amazing ways to needs right in their backyard. The following is not an exhaustive list, but here are some practical ideas on how to engage with needs you see.
CARE FOR THE ELDERLY AND PHYSICALLY VULNERABLE:
This demographic is uniquely susceptible to the disease. When calling the elderly or physically vulnerable, use the suggested guidelines below. Ask an open-ended question first. Use more direct questions, if applicable. We don’t want to insult someone who may be fully functional.
Food Delivery Services, as needed:
HEB Curbside and Home Delivery - Order groceries online and either pick up at HEB curbside locations or have delivered to your home.
Amazon Fresh - Food delivery to your doorstep
Favor - Order your local favorite food / owned by HEB
Things are moving at a rapid pace and changing quickly. We are daily assessing the needs in our city and how Austin Ridge can best engage. Here are the three things you can do right now: PRAY, GIVE your regular tithes and DONATE & SERVE through these vetted opportunities provided through the Ridge.
Do you have a heart for kids? Do you want to inspire and equip them to be excellent students, make wise choices, and follow Christ? Consider serving with Side By Side Kids at their Learning Center. They need volunteers to assist the students with their schoolwork as well as volunteers to assist with daily programming preparations. For more information, click the link below.

We Are Blood:
We Are Blood is the Central Texas blood bank network. Blood banks are considered essential operations and the need for blood is still great because blood supply is diminishing. Donations are by appointment only at either a donor center or mobile blood drive.
Community First! Village:
Community First! Village is a planned community that provides affordable, permanent housing and supportive community for people coming out of chronic homelessness. Normally they provide many on-site volunteer opportunities, but they have moved to remote opportunities in the midst of the pandemic in order to protect the vulnerable population living at the Village.
Austin Disaster Relief Network
ADRN is a network of more than 190 Greater Austin churches and thousands of trained volunteers, enabling church members to organize, prepare, and respond quickly in the event of a disaster. Currently, ADRN is assisting the City of Austin and the Capital Area Medical Operations Center to immediately distribute 20,000 DIY masks to area caregivers and essential personnel.
Foster Village serves the children and families in the child welfare system to help create opportunities for the community to be a "village" of support around these vulnerable and underserved children and families. The best way to serve them now is by praying, sending HEB, Walmart, or Amazon gift cards, purchasing items from their Amazon Wishlist that will be shipped directly to them and checking out their current volunteer opportunities.
Lake Travis Crisis Ministries:
Lake Travis Crisis Ministries is an all-volunteer, outreach mission that provides assistance and encouragement to those in crisis in the Lake Travis area. As the economy worsens and more people lose their jobs, the need for help with food increases. They have created an Amazon Wish List to include much-needed food items for their clients.
