Learn more about retreat

Real change doesn’t come from trying harder, but from trusting God more deeply. As we surrender to His presence and power at work within us, He patiently forms us over time. Together, through teaching, real life stories and Scripture, we’ll explore the hope of real, lasting change—becoming who God already sees us to be.

Charmaine has a gift for helping people notice where God is already at work in their lives — and trust Him enough to step into the season they’re in. Her own journey with God has taken her around the world through years on staff with Cru, including seasons living in Moscow, Russia, and Florence, Italy.

Charmaine is married to Greg, and together they’ve raised two young adult children — a season that continues to shape how she thinks about faith and trusting God through change.

Today, she continues her work in Italy with Villa Fonte, a place devoted to spiritual formation. And working with couples through FamilyLife as they develop a vision for their lives together.

Charmaine often says, “The adventure God has in store for you far out-reaches anything you could imagine for yourself,” a reflection of her belief that God invites every woman into deeper trust, greater courage, and a life of meaningful impact.

Retreat FAQs

Can I attend just Friday or just Saturday at a discounted rate?

Our retreat is intentionally designed as one beautiful, cohesive weekend — beginning Friday night and carrying through Saturday afternoon. Each session builds on the next, and we don’t want you to miss a moment. Because of that, registration covers the full retreat experience and we’re not able to offer single-day or partial rates.

Will I be able to choose who I sit with for table time?

Yes! During registration, you’ll have the opportunity to list women you’d like to sit with for table time. We will do our very best to accommodate all requests.

And if you don’t have anyone specific to request — no worries at all. Many women come on their own, and we thoughtfully place every woman at a table where meaningful connection can happen. Some of the sweetest new friendships begin right there.

Can I change my activity after I register?

Each of our activities requires specific supplies, instructors, and room setup — all prepared in advance based on registrations. For that reason, we’re unable to change activity selections after registration. Thank you for understanding! We truly believe you’re going to love the experience you chose.

My plans changed! Can I get a refund?

Refunds are available through March 31, 2026. After that date, we’re unable to process refunds. However, you are welcome to transfer your registration to another woman.

Simply email bcwomen@austinridge.org, and we’ll gladly help facilitate the transfer.

What does my registration include?

Your registration covers everything you need for a meaningful weekend:

  • All retreat sessions (worship + teaching)
  • Small group table time
  • Friday late-night snack
  • Saturday breakfast + lunch
  • Your selected Saturday activity (please note: some activities have an additional charge not included in your registration)
  • A retreat gift
  • A beautifully prepared, welcoming space

All you have to do is show up. We’ll take care of the rest.

What should I wear?

Come comfortable! This is a relaxed and welcoming weekend.

Think cozy and casual for Friday night and comfortable daytime attire for Saturday. Layers are always a good idea inside the building — we know those AC temps can vary!

Can I invite a friend who doesn’t attend Austin Ridge?

Absolutely! Retreat is for every woman. Invite your neighbor, coworker, sister, mom, or friend. We would love for her to experience this weekend with you.

Is childcare available?

Childcare is not provided for this event. We encourage you to make arrangements ahead of time so you can fully step away, breathe deep, and be refreshed without distraction.

What are the activity options again?

Saturday afternoon activities include:

  • Bloom Bar (Guided Floral Workshop) (sold out)
  • Bandana Charm Necklace Making (Make and Create Studio)
  • Watercolor Studio (Guided Watercolor Experience) (sold out)
  • Austin Ridge Adventure Quest
  • Game On!

Activities are first-come, first-served and fill quickly.

Several of our hands-on workshops have specific capacity limits due to room size and materials so we can ensure a meaningful and well-prepared experience for everyone participating. Once an activity fills, it will close. We encourage you to register early to secure your spot!

  • Laura Benton

    Laura Benton

Laura was born and raised in the sunny state of CALIFORNIA!!! She grew up in Southern California, where she enjoyed her summers at the beach, and then moved to Northern California, where she attended college at San Jose State. She earned her degree in Child and Adolescent Development with a minor in Mathematics, but let’s be honest; she mostly went to school to play water polo. Laura, her husband, Dan, and their four kids, Cassidy, Libby, Emily, and Brady, made the trek out to Austin in August 2018. It is Laura’s great joy to have fun serving people, which is what she is doing as a ministry assistant for Embrace and Women's Ministries. While she may never get used to the weather in Texas, Laura still enjoys playing water polo, being silly with her kids, and finding any reason to go on an adventure!
